We are currently seeking a motivated NOC SOC Intern to join our technology team in Dar es Salaam to gain real-world experience in a 24/7 telecom environment.


Job Overview

  • Position: NOC SOC Intern (1)

  • Location: 8th & 9th Floor, IT Plaza, Ohio St/Garden Avenue, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

  • Environment: 24/7 Operational Shift


Key Responsibilities

Client and Network Support

  • Serve as the first line of operational contact in the Network Operations Center, supporting clients and infrastructure.

  • Monitor systems to detect service degradations, outages, and performance issues impacting client services.

  • Provide initial client support, validate alarms, troubleshoot faults, and escalate incidents per SOPs and SLAs.

  • Coordinate with Field Engineers for physical intervention and maintain accurate incident tracking until resolution.

NOC Monitoring & Incident Handling

  • Monitor network availability, performance, and alarms using NOC monitoring tools.

  • Identify, log, classify, and prioritize network incidents and events.

  • Escalate incidents to IP Engineers or other specialist teams in line with SOPs and SLAs.

  • Track incidents end-to-end and provide regular status updates.

  • Support shift handovers to ensure operational continuity.

Troubleshooting & Network Analysis

  • Perform first-level troubleshooting of network faults and service issues.

  • Validate alarms and distinguish real faults from false positives.

  • Collect logs, screenshots, and supporting information for investigations.

  • Assist engineers by providing accurate data for fault analysis.

Ticketing, Documentation & Reporting

  • Log, update, and close incidents in ticketing and monitoring systems.

  • Maintain accurate incident timelines, actions taken, and resolution details.

  • Assist with updating operational documentation, SOPs, and runbooks.

  • Support preparation of daily, weekly, and shift-based NOC reports.

  • Help analyze recurring incidents and network performance trends.


Qualifications and Attributes

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree (or final-year student) in Information Technology, Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, Computer or Electronics Engineering, or a related technical field.

Knowledge, Skills & Competencies

  • Basic understanding of networking fundamentals such as TCP/IP and LAN/WAN concepts.

  • Strong interest in network operations and service assurance.

  • Customer-focused mindset with good communication skills.

  • Familiarity with monitoring tools or ticketing systems is an advantage.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow defined procedures.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, 24/7 operational environment.

  • Willingness to work shift-based schedules if required.

  • Strong willingness to learn and grow technical skills.
