Job Overview

Airtel Tanzania is seeking an Operations & Business Analytics Manager to support Airtel Money operations through business analysis, performance monitoring, fraud and risk management, retail operations, data management, and mobile-commerce product implementation.

The role combines business analytics, financial analysis, project management, operational administration, and stakeholder coordination.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Analytics & Insights

Collect and analyze daily business data to support decision-making.
Identify business trends and transaction patterns.
Provide regular business insights to relevant stakeholders.
Analyze customer transactions, revenue, and financial data.

2. Strategy & Business Projects

Support the development and implementation of business strategies.
Contribute to promotional plans and initiatives.
Coordinate cross-functional business projects.
Support business planning and translate strategies into detailed initiatives.
Work effectively across different departments and management levels.

3. Performance Monitoring

Monitor business-unit performance.
Analyze customer transactions, revenues, and financial results.
Track progress against business objectives.
Identify performance issues and alert relevant stakeholders.

4. Fraud & Risk Management

Analyze systems and transactions to identify potential fraud risks.
Identify system loopholes and recommend corrective measures.
Support efforts to minimize fraud and operational risks.

5. Business Intelligence & Data Management

Maintain and manage important Airtel Money business data.
Provide stakeholders with accurate and relevant information.
Support data-driven decision-making across the business.

6. Retail & Business Partner Operations

Develop and implement daily back-office routines for retail operations.
Monitor retail-trade performance.
Administer commissions, incentives, and payments to retail partners.
Monitor business-partner performance.
Follow up on payments owed to Airtel Money.
Develop processes and procedures for efficient retail operations.
Oversee second-level support for retail partners.
Maintain records of applications and other retail-partner documentation.

7. Mobile Commerce Products & Services

Prepare specifications for product enhancements.
Coordinate and conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Obtain sign-off for new services and enhancements.
Coordinate implementation of new products and services with development partners and technical teams.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a business-related field.

Technical & Professional Skills

Candidates should have:

Excellent knowledge of accounting functions.
Experience working with large databases.
Strong data interpretation and analytical skills.
Understanding of financial statements and Profit & Loss (P&L).
Project and program management skills.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work across different business units and organizational levels.
