Position Overview

AB InBev is seeking a qualified Operator to join its team at Dar es Salaam Headquarters (DSM HQ). The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and maintaining packaging equipment and processes to ensure consistent product quality, maximum production efficiency, and minimum waste while maintaining high safety standards.


Key Purpose of the Role

To operate and maintain packaging equipment and production processes in order to:

  • Achieve consistent product quality.
  • Maximize production throughput.
  • Minimize production waste.
  • Maintain safe and efficient operations.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

The Operator will be responsible for:

Packaging Operations

  • Operating packaging processes efficiently.
  • Starting up, running, and shutting down packaging machines.
  • Managing waste generated during machine operations.
  • Performing brand and packaging changeovers.

Equipment Maintenance

  • Performing in-depth cleaning of packaging equipment.
  • Carrying out first-level maintenance.
  • Ensuring equipment remains in good operating condition.

Process Monitoring & Quality Control

  • Monitoring packaging process performance.
  • Conducting routine quality checks.
  • Monitoring production processes and control inputs.
  • Taking corrective action whenever process deviations occur.

Teamwork & Communication

  • Participating actively in team activities.
  • Communicating effectively with customers and suppliers.
  • Contributing to problem-solving initiatives.
  • Maintaining a safe and healthy working environment.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

Education

  • Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering.
  • Trade Test Certificate in Mechanical or Electrical.

Experience

  • Experience working in a packaging process environment.

Additional Requirements

  • Ability to work rotating shifts.
