Job Purpose

The Principal Internal Auditor II (Information System Audit) reports to the Head of Internal Audit and is responsible for carrying out information systems audit functions within the Bank. The role focuses on evaluating ICT systems, identifying technology-related risks, strengthening internal controls, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and governance requirements.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Participate in the development of the Bank’s risk-based annual internal audit plan, with emphasis on ICT systems and applications.
• Assist the Head of Internal Audit in developing and implementing the Internal Audit Procedures Manual and Internal Audit Charter.
• Support audit team members on data analytics to ensure audit objectives are effectively achieved.
• Plan and conduct audit assignments covering ICT systems and other auditable information technology areas.
• Review the integrity and accuracy of data within ICT systems and other software applications used by the Bank.
• Keep the Head of Internal Audit regularly informed of emerging information systems risks and ICT-related exceptions.
• Conduct follow-up reviews of internal audit reports and reports issued by other assurance providers to verify implementation of agreed recommendations.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must possess:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from a recognized institution.
• A Master’s degree in Auditing, Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• Professional certification as a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA).
• An internationally recognized professional qualification such as ACCA or CPA (T) will be an added advantage.
• At least thirteen (13) years of relevant work experience.
• Strong knowledge and practical skills in computer-assisted auditing tools, audit management software, and data analytics.
• Excellent leadership and management skills.
