Job Description
The Product Manager – Assets & Liabilities will lead product innovation, modification, and streamlining to ensure the bank maintains a competitive, well-priced value proposition for both current and prospective clients. The role focuses on Asset and Liability products, revenue assurance to curb revenue leakages, and close collaboration with digital, bancassurance, and agency banking teams during product rollouts.
Roles & Responsibilities
Product Development & Management
- Manage the development and enhancement of banking products and services through market research, customer needs analysis, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
- Oversee the full product lifecycle from conceptualization to launch and continuous optimization, ensuring competitiveness, profitability, and alignment with business strategy.
- Identify, design, and present innovative and creative product solutions.
Customer & Market Analysis
- Understand customer needs, behaviors, and preferences to design and enhance products that meet financial goals and improve customer experience.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and market insights to inform product strategy, pricing, and go-to-market plans.
- Continuously review customer segmentation and recommend suitable product activities to target and sustain viable and profitable segments in line with the Retail strategy.
Performance Monitoring & Revenue Assurance
- Monitor product performance, analyze key performance metrics, and make data-driven decisions to improve profitability and customer satisfaction.
- Ensure income targets for Retail products are achieved by establishing and implementing local and regional product pricing strategies.
- Conduct revenue assurance activities with the MI & Analytics team to identify and curb revenue leakages, including proposing or automating manual fees where necessary.
- Review product income analysis prepared by MI & Analytics/Finance and present findings to the Head of Product & Revenue Assurance.
Pricing & Strategic Input
- Develop product pricing strategies to drive adoption, revenue growth, and market competitiveness.
- Prepare product papers, presentations, and strategic recommendations for management on product performance and market trends.
- Provide input during the development of product-specific sales campaigns.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Enablement
- Work closely with Sales teams, Proposition Heads, and Cluster Managers to support sales strategies across the branch network.
- Collaborate with IT, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Product Development, and Operations to ensure seamless product delivery.
- Coordinate with the Exim Learning & Development Unit to ensure all assigned product training for Sales Officers, branch staff, and Head Office staff is conducted as per the training calendar.
Governance & Accountability
- Display strong critical thinking in cross-functional process analysis and problem resolution for new and existing products.
- Manage the development, approval, training, and communication of new products and product changes, including customer, operational, system, and process impacts.
- Maintain overall ownership and accountability for all product-related analysis and outcomes.
