Job Purpose
The Quality & Safety Officer will support the Quality Assurance Department in monitoring and improving the quality and safety of healthcare services at CCBRT Hospital.
The position will monitor quality implementation across the organization, lead aspects of the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP), and conduct Nursing, Midwifery and Clinical Audits.
Key Responsibilities
1. Quality Management System (QMS)
- Lead and support implementation of 5S, KAIZEN and Total Quality Management (TQM).
- Support the development and integration of the Quality Management System into HMIS.
- Conduct staff training and awareness sessions on:
- 5S
- KAIZEN
- TQM
- Lean principles
2. Quality Assurance Support
- Support the Head of Quality Assurance with daily quality-related activities.
- Conduct internal quality audits.
- Follow up on audit findings and corrective actions.
- Prepare quality reports.
- Support the hospital’s quality-related complaint management process.
- Support scientific and structured problem-solving processes.
3. Quality Improvement Plan
- Monitor compliance with the agreed Quality Management System.
- Assess documentation and identify quality gaps.
- Conduct capacity building based on identified gaps.
- Support departments in improving processes, procedures and guidelines.
- Assist with drafting and reviewing quality-related documents.
- Plan and conduct annual quality training programmes.
4. Quality Improvement & Patient Feedback
- Lead implementation of the CCBRT Quality Improvement Plan.
- Collect and analyse client feedback.
- Prepare weekly, monthly and quarterly reports.
- Train teams on areas requiring improvement based on customer feedback.
- Support review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Communicate progress of quality improvement initiatives.
- Coordinate internal assessments on Infection Prevention and Control (IPC).
5. Clinical & Nursing Audits
- Conduct Nursing and Midwifery audits.
- Perform clinical audits.
- Assess compliance with quality and clinical standards.
- Identify areas requiring corrective action and improvement.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education
Applicants must hold a degree in a health-related field, such as:
- Medicine
- Nursing
- Midwifery
- Health Administration
- Public Health
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of clinical experience.
- Experience working in a Quality/Quality Assurance section is an advantage.
- Practical clinical experience managing different categories of patients.
