Purpose of the Job

The Relationship Officer – Retail Deposits is responsible for driving the growth of the bank’s retail liabilities portfolio through the acquisition, retention, and deepening of relationships with individual customers. The role focuses on the mobilization of retail deposits, account acquisition, salary account onboarding, fixed term deposits, card business growth, and cross-selling of retail banking products and services while ensuring sustainable and sticky customer deposits.

Key Accountabilities

1. Client Acquisition & Relationship Management

• Proactively source new retail deposit clients through direct sales, referrals, and networking.

• Maintain and grow relationships with existing retail deposit clients, ensuring excellent service and cross-selling of bank products.

• Identify clients’ financial needs and tailor suitable deposit products (e.g., individual fixed deposits, current/savings accounts, account products).

2. Deposit Mobilization

• Achieve assigned deposit targets by acquiring new funds from individuals and MSE clientele.

• Develop customized proposals for high-net-worth and MSE clients.

• Monitor market trends and competitor deposit rates to ensure competitive positioning.

3. Customer Service & Retention

• Ensure a smooth onboarding process for new customers including KYC compliance.

• Resolve client queries and complaints efficiently and professionally.

• Conduct periodic relationship reviews and client feedback sessions to ensure satisfaction.

4. Compliance & Risk Management

• Adhere strictly to all internal policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements related to account opening and deposit operations.

5. Reporting & Performance Monitoring

• Provide weekly/monthly reports on retail deposit growth, client pipeline, and relationship activities.
