Job Overview
Van Mo Safaris is seeking a dynamic and experienced Reservation Officer to join its growing team. The successful candidate will focus on managing reservations and client relationships within the Indian and Chinese tourism markets, which are key growth segments for the company.
The role involves managing the entire reservation process, from handling client inquiries and designing customized safari itineraries to coordinating bookings with lodges, suppliers, and internal operational teams to ensure exceptional travel experiences.
Key Responsibilities
Reservation Management
- Handle reservation inquiries from Indian and Chinese clients.
- Manage the complete reservation cycle from inquiry to confirmation.
- Prepare and customize travel and safari itineraries based on client requirements.
- Process bookings accurately and efficiently.
Client Relationship Management
- Communicate professionally with local and international clients.
- Understand client preferences and expectations.
- Provide timely responses to inquiries and booking requests.
- Deliver high-quality customer service throughout the booking process.
Coordination and Operations
- Coordinate with:
- Lodges
- Hotels
- Tour suppliers
- Transport providers
- Internal operations teams
- Ensure smooth execution of travel arrangements.
- Monitor bookings and resolve any reservation-related issues.
Market Expertise
- Utilize knowledge of Indian and Chinese travel markets to develop suitable travel solutions.
- Understand cultural preferences and travel behaviors of clients from both markets.
- Support the company in expanding its presence within these tourism segments.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain accurate reservation records.
- Update booking systems and databases.
- Prepare reports and reservation documentation as required.
- Ensure all booking information is complete and accurate.
Qualifications and Experience
Required Education
- Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Tourism Management
- Hospitality Management
- Travel and Tourism
- Business Administration
- Or a related field
Required Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in tourism reservations.
- Proven experience working in the tourism, travel, or hospitality industry.
