Job Summary

Ramada Resort by Wyndham Dar Es Salaam is seeking a Sales Executive responsible for generating hotel revenue through new business development, corporate account management, MICE and events sales, travel-trade partnerships, and promotion of the hotel’s rooms and food & beverage services.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Cluster Sales Manager and other hotel departments to achieve sales targets and maximise revenue.

Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Business Development

  • Develop sales activities to achieve monthly and annual targets.
  • Identify new business from corporate, government, NGO, diplomatic, leisure, and travel-trade markets.
  • Conduct sales calls, client visits, presentations, networking, and site inspections.
  • Prepare quotations, proposals, and rate offers.
  • Follow up leads and proposals to increase conversions.
  • Maintain an active sales pipeline.
  • Identify opportunities for repeat and additional business.

2. Account Management

  • Build and maintain relationships with corporate and key accounts.
  • Identify decision-makers and develop account plans.
  • Monitor account performance and identify opportunities to increase room nights and revenue.
  • Maintain accurate client records.

3. Hotel Revenue Generation

  • Promote hotel rooms, F&B, conferences, meetings, weddings, and events.
  • Generate room nights through corporate clients, travel agents, tour operators, and other partners.
  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Work with sales and revenue teams to maximise hotel revenue.

4. MICE & Events

  • Generate business for meetings, conferences, weddings, banquets, and corporate events.
  • Build relationships with event planners and organisations.
  • Respond to MICE enquiries and conduct site inspections.
  • Coordinate client requirements with hotel departments.
  • Follow up after events to obtain feedback and encourage repeat business.

5. Travel Trade & Market Development

  • Develop relationships with tour operators, travel agents, wholesalers, DMCs, and tourism partners.
  • Identify opportunities in local and international travel markets.
  • Participate in trade shows, exhibitions, workshops, and networking events.
  • Monitor competitor activities and market trends.

6. Client Service & Coordination

  • Respond promptly to client enquiries.
  • Handle complaints and coordinate their resolution.
  • Work with Reservations, Front Office, F&B, Banqueting, Finance, and Operations to deliver client requirements.
  • Communicate confirmed bookings and special arrangements to relevant departments.

7. Reporting & Administration

  • Maintain updated sales databases and client records.
  • Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly sales reports and forecasts.
  • Monitor performance against targets.
  • Provide management with updates on sales opportunities.
  • Attend sales meetings.

8. Financial & Commercial Coordination

  • Support hotel marketing and promotional activities.
  • Provide feedback on customer preferences and market opportunities.
  • Ensure rates, contracts, and commercial offers follow approved policies.
  • Coordinate with Finance on corporate accounts, credit facilities, and outstanding payments.
  • Ensure sales activities contribute to revenue and profitability.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in:
    • Sales
    • Marketing
    • Hospitality Management
    • Tourism
    • Business Administration
    • Or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of proven sales experience, preferably in:
    • Hotels
    • Resorts
    • Tourism
    • Travel
  • Experience in hotel corporate sales, MICE, travel trade, and hospitality sales is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to achieve and exceed sales targets.
  • Experience in corporate contracting and account management is an advantage.
  • Good knowledge of hotel products, services, and revenue-generating opportunities.

Ideal Candidate

The strongest candidate will be a target-driven hospitality sales professional with an established network of corporate clients, travel agents, tour operators, event planners, and other business partners.

Experience in MICE, corporate hotel sales, account management, and revenue generation would be particularly valuable.
