Senior Accountant – Obama Technologies

Obama Technologies, a leading Mobile Phone Accessories & Electronics Trading company, is hiring a competent, analytical, and results-driven Senior Accountant to oversee its entire finance and accounting function in Dar es Salaam.

We source products locally and internationally and require a hands-on finance leader who understands trading business dynamics—accurate numbers, tight cash controls, accountable stock management, and full tax compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Reporting: IFRS compliance, budgeting, forecasting, and P&L analysis.
Cash Management & Internal Controls: Managing bank transactions, mobile money accounts, and petty cash systems.
Inventory & Stock Control: Stock valuation, COGS tracking, and variance analysis.
Import Costing & Supplier Management: Calculating landed costs, freight charges, customs clearance, and foreign exchange (Forex) adjustments.
Tax & Statutory Compliance: Managing TRA filings (VAT, PAYE, SDL, WHT, EFD) and statutory contributions (NSSF, WCF).

Qualifications & Requirements

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Experience: 2+ years of accounting experience, including at least 1+ year in a senior role.
Tax & Accounting Standards: Strong knowledge of Tanzanian tax laws and IFRS standards.
Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with ERP/Accounting software and inventory management systems.
Key Attributes: High integrity, strong leadership skills, and strategic accountability.
