Job Summary
Acting as a credit expert, this role serves as the primary conduit between the relationship team and the credit risk function. Key responsibilities include:

Solutions Development: Creating practical lending structures based on a deep understanding of customer needs.

Quality Assurance: Delivering high-quality, consistent credit applications and recommendations for sanctioning.

Portfolio Oversight: Monitoring and controlling the Business Banking account portfolio while maintaining data integrity in Credit Risk Systems.

Leadership: Leading and managing the Business Banking business analyst team.
Key Responsibilities
Credit & Solutions Development (30%)
-
Assess business and credit risks associated with providing bank products and services.
-
Develop high-quality credit solutions to ensure fast approval from credit teams.
-
Serve as a joint contact for professionals such as accountants and solicitors for credit management purposes.

Prepare formal credit applications for recommendation to sanctioners.
Supporting Business Banking Lending Book (30%)
-
Partner with Relationship Managers (RMs) and Branch Managers on new and existing applications, providing guidance on credit appetite.

Coordinate directly with the sanctioning office for credits exceeding local risk management limits.

Manage the end-to-end process for risk reports and challenge RMs when control lapses or potential risks are identified.

Monitor portfolio quality using “Condition of Sanction” triggers and discuss deteriorating trends with sanctioners.

Oversee the execution of documentation and the drawdown of facilities.
Team Leadership & People Management (40%)

Set challenging objectives and manage effective performance, development, and succession planning for the team.

Act as a role model by driving NBC Behaviors and Guiding Principles throughout the team.

Sign off on action plans for top talent development and performance improvement for low/moderate performers.

Ensure business analyst resources are sufficient and managed cost-effectively across the bank’s network.
Candidate Requirements
Experience & Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce, Economics, or an equivalent qualification.

Professional Certification: ACCA or CPA (T) qualification.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in a credit role at a junior management level within a financial institution.
