Job Overview

The Senior Finance Officer will provide project management support to Jhpiego programs to ensure projects run smoothly.

Working with all stakeholders, the Senior Finance Officer will identify risks that may hinder the achievement of Jhpiego’s objectives, assess the adequacy of existing controls, and recommend appropriate internal control systems to reduce associated risks.

The Senior Finance Officer will also provide guidance, training, and compliance oversight in the areas of:

• Procurement
• Inventory management
• Subrecipient monitoring
• Financial management

The role will work closely with senior management, finance, administrative, and human resources staff to ensure compliance with Jhpiego, Johns Hopkins University, and donor regulations.

Key Skills and Competencies

Communication and Interpersonal Skills

• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Ability to deal effectively with staff at all levels.

Tax Knowledge

• In-depth knowledge of Tanzania income tax regulations.

USG Rules and Regulations

• Understanding of United States Government (USG) rules and regulations.

Supervisory Skills

• Ability to mentor and train other Finance staff.

Computer Skills

• Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
