Job Purpose

The Senior Officer Finance & Accounts will oversee the organization’s financial and administrative functions, ensuring sound financial management, compliance, reporting, budgeting, procurement support, and office administration. The position reports directly to the Country Office Finance Manager.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Compliance

  • Oversee the organization’s financial operations.
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial reports.
  • Record and maintain financial transactions and accounting records.
  • Review financial transactions submitted by AIM Regional Accounts Managers.
  • Support budget preparation and monitor expenditure against approved donor budgets.
  • Support internal, external, and donor audits.
  • Conduct field supervision visits and verify programme activities.
  • Provide financial input during:
    • Proposal development
    • Project implementation
    • Human resource management
    • Logistics
    • Travel administration
  • Ensure compliance with organizational financial policies and procedures.
  • Maintain complete and accurate financial documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with donor requirements and statutory regulations.
  • Monitor timely retirement of staff IOUs (Imprest accountability).
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Safeguarding Responsibilities

  • Promote and implement BRAC’s safeguarding policies.
  • Ensure a safe working environment for employees and programme beneficiaries.
  • Provide safeguarding guidance and support to team members.
  • Report safeguarding incidents according to organizational procedures.
  • Encourage compliance with safeguarding standards throughout programme implementation.

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in:
    • Accounting
    • Finance
    • Economics
    • Investment
  • CPA or ACCA certification is an added advantage.

Experience Required

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in finance and accounting.
  • Experience working with development organizations or NGOs is preferred.
  • Experience managing finances for development programmes such as:
    • Microfinance
    • Livelihood programmes
    • Education
    • Agriculture
    • Food Security
    • Women’s and Girls’ Empowerment initiatives
