Job Description

The Solution Architect will develop, design, and maintain solution architectures for specific business functional and technical areas. The role involves participating in the definition of high-level functional and non-functional requirements, analysing technical trade-offs, determining major components and subsystems, and defining interfaces and collaborations between them.

The position will also support the assessment and adoption of emerging technologies, data capabilities, and AI-enabled solutions to drive innovation and business value.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop domain/client-segment architecture patterns for use across client solutions, client segments, or domains.
• Participate in the broader SBG Architecture Community of Practice.

• Evaluate and score Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Proposal (RFP) responses and prepare reports containing findings and recommendations.

• Conduct technical assessments of proposed technologies, solutions, products, services, and proof-of-concept/proof-of-technology initiatives.
• Plan and develop the architectural runway and backlogs for specific domains or segments in support of upcoming business capabilities.
• Produce transitional architectures aligned with target architectures at the appropriate conceptual, logical, and/or physical level.
• Provide specialist architectural and technical advice covering planning, analysis, design, build, testing, deployment, opportunity identification, enablement, and risk-impact analysis.
• Review and provide recommendations on Solution, Domain, and Client Segment architectures for alignment with engineering and business strategies, legislation, regulations, and governance requirements.
• Provide architectural and technical advice to resolve critical situations and recommend remediation options, including their advantages and disadvantages.
• Ensure technology architecture—including functional, platform, application, information and data, security, and integration architecture—is aligned with agreed business outcomes.
• Work with business representatives, including Product Owners and Product Managers, to ensure alignment and delivery of customer value.

AI, Automation and Data Responsibilities

• Evaluate emerging technologies, Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities, and industry trends.
• Assess the applicability, risks, and potential business value of emerging technologies.
• Support the architecture, design, and adoption of AI, intelligent automation, and advanced analytics solutions.
• Ensure AI and automation solutions align with enterprise architecture standards and governance requirements.
• Collaborate with business, data, and technology stakeholders to identify, assess, and prioritise AI-driven and data-enabled opportunities.
