Herocean Enterprises Ltd is seeking a qualified and experienced Tax Accountant to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring full compliance with Tanzanian tax laws and providing reliable tax advisory support to the company.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare, review, and submit accurate and timely tax returns to the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), including VAT, PAYE, corporate income tax, withholding taxes, and other statutory levies;
• Monitor updates to Tanzanian tax legislation and advise management on compliance requirements and potential impacts;
• Maintain complete, accurate, and well-organized tax records and supporting documentation for audits and TRA inspections;
• Liaise with external auditors, tax advisors, and TRA officials;
• Support internal audit processes and ensure effective implementation of tax-related internal controls;
• Assist in preparing tax budgets and forecasting future tax liabilities and cash flows;
• Provide tax advisory support to other departments on the tax implications of business decisions;
• Perform regular reconciliations of tax accounts and promptly resolve discrepancies.
Qualifications and Requirements
• Must be a Tanzanian national;
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or a related field;
• Minimum of 2–5 years’ experience in tax accounting, preferably within Tanzania or the East African region;
• Strong knowledge of Tanzanian tax laws, including the Income Tax Act, VAT Act, and TRA guidelines;
• Proficiency in TRA e-filing and tax management systems;
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills;
• High level of integrity, accuracy, and attention to detail;
• Native-level fluency in both English and Swahili.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience working with multinational companies or handling cross-border tax matters;
• Familiarity with transfer pricing regulations or international tax principles is an added advantage.
