Objective of the Role
To support the Underground Equipment Reliability Engineer in achieving reliability targets through effective condition monitoring activities.
The role focuses on:
- Monitoring mobile and fixed equipment
- Supporting maintenance decision-making
- Implementing equipment reliability strategies
- Enhancing predictive maintenance programs
Key Responsibilities
Condition Monitoring & Analysis
- Conduct vibration analysis, thermography, and oil analysis
- Perform routine and ad-hoc equipment assessments
- Identify early signs of wear, faults, and failure trends
Data Collection & Reporting
- Collect accurate monitoring data
- Analyze trends and detect abnormalities
- Maintain high data integrity standards
- Prepare detailed reports with actionable insights
Maintenance Support
- Recommend proactive maintenance actions
- Support predictive maintenance (PdM) programs
- Assist maintenance teams during inspections and shutdowns
Field Operations
- Conduct physical equipment inspections
- Verify abnormal readings onsite
- Perform risk assessments before activities
Escalation & Safety
- Escalate critical reliability issues
- Ensure compliance with safety standards
Qualifications & Certifications
Required
- Diploma or FTC in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering
- Valid Tanzanian driving license
Added Advantage
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering
- Certifications in:
- Vibration Analysis
- Thermography
- Non-Destructive Testing (PT, MT, UT)
- Reliability Engineering (MLT, NDT, etc.)
- Condition Monitoring
Experience, Knowledge & Skills
- 2–3 years’ experience in:
- Condition monitoring
- Maintenance or reliability roles
- Experience with CMMS systems
- Knowledge of:
- Predictive maintenance
- Equipment diagnostics
- Maintenance workflows
Technical Skills
- Vibration monitoring
- Equipment diagnostics
- Data analysis and reporting
Work Environment Experience
- Mining or heavy industry
- Processing plants
- Field-based equipment inspection
