Job Announcement: Technician / Mechanic

Experience Required: 3+ years
Overall Responsibility
The Technician / Mechanic is responsible for assembling, maintaining, and repairing machinery (tractors and construction equipment) in the workshop or at customer premises. The role ensures the functionality and reliability of machines, engines, and mechanical and electrical systems. Candidates must possess manual dexterity, strong attention to detail, and the ability to operate various tools while strictly adhering to safety precautions.
Key Responsibilities

Execute daily and weekly planning in conjunction with the supervisor.

Build and assemble machines or mechanical components according to requirements.

Inspect machines, engines, and transmissions, running diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues.

Conduct repairs aiming for maximum reliability and troubleshoot reported problems in a timely manner.

Perform thorough maintenance on machinery, tractors, equipment, and related systems.

Clean, apply lubricants, and replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery.

Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle users.

Undertake additional duties as assigned (e.g., repair of hydraulic systems, painting vehicles).

Maintain daily logs, timesheets, and report on operational issues to ensure continuous uptime and professionalism.
Requirements & Qualifications

Education: Certificate in Mechanical Repair/Service; a Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is preferred. Advanced literacy and numeracy required.

Experience: 3+ years of proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic.

Technical Skills: Excellent knowledge of machinery, hydraulic, electrical, and other systems. Ability to use hand tools and precision measurement equipment (callipers, micrometres, voltmeters). Proficiency in reading instructions, wiring diagrams, hydraulic diagrams, and schematics.

Licensing: Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and valid professional certifications.

Personal Attributes: Strong commitment to health and safety guidelines, excellent problem-solving ability, good physical strength and stamina, high honesty, and strong communication skills.
