BMG Brothers Investment Ltd is seeking a competent and results-oriented Transport Officer to manage the company’s fleet operations, transportation activities, and heavy machinery in support of its business operations.

Position Summary

The Transport Officer will be responsible for coordinating and managing the company’s transportation activities, fleet operations, vehicles, and heavy machinery.

The successful candidate will oversee drivers and heavy equipment operators, coordinate vehicle maintenance, monitor fuel consumption, manage fleet records, and ensure efficient utilisation of transportation resources and equipment.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily transportation activities to ensure timely and efficient operations.

• Supervise drivers and heavy equipment operators to ensure discipline, safety, and performance.

• Manage fleet and machinery records, including registration, insurance, servicing, and maintenance schedules.

• Monitor fuel consumption and operational costs, and recommend cost-control measures.

• Ensure compliance with road safety regulations and company transport policies.

• Coordinate servicing, repairs, and preventive maintenance for all vehicles and equipment.

• Hire and engage heavy machinery as required for company projects and operations.

• Monitor equipment utilisation and availability to ensure optimal use.

• Prepare regular fleet management reports for management.

• Recommend and implement improvements to enhance transport and fleet operations.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics and Transport Management, Supply Chain Management, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.

• 2–3 years of relevant experience in fleet and transport management.

• Experience supervising drivers and heavy equipment operators.

• Experience managing company vehicles, heavy machinery, and equipment.

• Knowledge of maintenance coordination, servicing, and repairs.

• Knowledge of fleet operations, transport planning, fuel management, and vehicle tracking.

• Experience in heavy machinery hiring will be an added advantage.

• Strong organisational, communication, reporting, and problem-solving skills.
