Treasury Officer

Job Summary

The Treasury Officer plays a key role in supporting the Treasury Unit by executing core treasury operations and ensuring efficient liquidity management. The role involves handling payments, managing bank accounts, preparing treasury reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

1. Treasury Operations

• Process online payments accurately and on time
• Manage fund transfers between FINCA bank accounts, including those held at the Central Bank
• Ensure all treasury transactions are properly recorded and booked

---

2. Liquidity Management

• Support branch-level liquidity to ensure adequate cash availability
• Monitor and manage cash flow across accounts
• Prepare daily liquidity reports using Central Bank templates

---

3. Reporting & Compliance

• Prepare and submit monthly reports, including:
  • ALCO deposit reports
  • Notes payable maturity profile
  • Investment matrix
  • BOT NPS reports
  • Lender reports
• Prepare and share cash position reports with the Finance Manager
• Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements

4. Financial Management

• Manage accruals for:
  • Interest income on investments
  • Interest expenses on borrowings
• Develop and manage payment projections (local and foreign currency) aligned with the organization’s budget

5. Reconciliation & Coordination

• Collaborate with Payments and Reconciliation teams to clear outstanding items
• Ensure all bank accounts are active and properly managed

Qualifications & Experience

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in:
  • Accounting
  • Finance
• Professional certifications (added advantage):
  • CPA / ACCA / Chartered Accountancy
  • ACI Dealing Certificate

Experience

• At least 1 year of experience in Treasury, Finance, or a related field
• Knowledge of treasury operations and financial management
• Understanding of statutory and regulatory requirements
• Experience in microfinance or banking is an added advantage
