Job Overview

Tabono Consult Limited, on behalf of its client, a leading Pan-African digital payments and fintech provider powering seamless and secure transactions for businesses, financial institutions, and global brands across the continent, is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Treasury Operations Analyst.

The successful candidate will support daily settlement operations across platforms, manage cash positioning, execute foreign exchange transactions, and maintain banking relationships to ensure smooth and efficient financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Settlement & Liquidation Management

• Oversee daily group settlement and reconciliation processes.
• Ensure manual settlements, alternative payment methods, mobile money, and aggregator liquidations are accurately processed on time.
• Ensure correct bank charge deductions are applied.

2. Cash Positioning & Forecasting

• Monitor and update daily cash position files.
• Analyze liquidity requirements and identify funding needs.
• Prepare forward-looking cash flow forecasting reports to support financial planning.
• Help manage and control liquidity-related risks.

3. FX & Banking Operations

• Execute foreign exchange transactions to minimize currency exposure.
• Act as the primary liaison with banking partners.
• Resolve operational issues with banking partners.
• Ensure bank mandates comply with internal policies and regional regulatory standards.

4. Process Automation & Controls

• Participate in treasury system automation projects.
• Maintain strict compliance with financial policies and procedures.
• Implement risk mitigation strategies.
• Strengthen and enhance treasury controls.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Economics, Finance, or a related business field.
• Certified Treasury Professional (CTP) qualification is a strong added advantage.
• Minimum 5 years of dedicated experience in a treasury department, preferably within the payments, fintech, or commercial banking sectors.
• Strong practical knowledge of diverse payment systems and mobile money platforms.
• Experience in back-office operations.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Clear and effective communication abilities.
• High level of integrity.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and high-pressure environment.
