Job Purpose
The Turbine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of turbines and auxiliary equipment, ensuring stable plant performance and minimizing downtime through continuous monitoring and control.
Key Responsibilities
1. Turbine Operation
- Operate turbines and auxiliary systems according to procedures
- Start, synchronize, load, unload, and shut down turbines safely
2. Monitoring & Control
- Monitor operational parameters including:
- Pressure
- Temperature
- Vibration
- Speed
- Load
- Take corrective action when abnormal conditions occur
3. Equipment Inspection
- Inspect turbines, generators, lubrication systems, cooling systems, condensers, and auxiliaries
- Identify and report operational abnormalities
4. Fault Handling & Emergency Response
- Respond to alarms, trips, and emergency situations
- Minimize downtime through quick and effective response
5. Coordination & Maintenance Support
- Coordinate with control room operators, boiler operators, and maintenance teams
- Assist with isolation procedures, lockout/tagout, and commissioning activities
- Support maintenance, troubleshooting, and performance testing
6. Housekeeping & Safety
- Maintain cleanliness and order in turbine and auxiliary work areas
- Ensure safe working practices at all times
Qualifications & Skills
Applicants should have:
- Strong technical and troubleshooting abilities
- Ability to monitor and respond to equipment performance changes
- High attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience
