The company is seeking a dynamic and customer-focused professional to join its growing team as a Warehouse Supervisor at one of its customer sites in Tanzania.
Position Purpose
The Warehouse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing warehouse operations, inventory management, logistics activities, and warehouse staff to ensure efficient storage, movement, and delivery of parts and consumables.
The role also supports Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) operations and stock planning activities aimed at improving customer productivity, reliability, and profitability through effective inventory control and logistics management.
Key Responsibilities
Warehouse Operations Management
- Supervise day-to-day warehouse operations.
- Ensure efficient delivery of warehouse services.
- Coordinate warehouse staff and operational activities.
- Maintain compliance with warehouse management standards and procedures.
- Ensure effective warehouse maintenance and housekeeping.
Inventory Management
- Supervise periodic cycle counts and stock verification exercises.
- Monitor inventory accuracy and stock availability.
- Ensure correct quantities of spare parts and tools are received.
- Verify all incoming goods against purchase and shipping documents.
- Conduct audits to identify:
- Damaged goods
- Incorrect items
- Under shipments
- Over shipments
- Ensure all received goods are correctly recorded in the inventory system.
- Ensure inventory is stored in designated bin locations.
- Monitor and improve inventory accuracy and control processes.
Logistics and Distribution
- Oversee the receipt, storage, and dispatch of materials.
- Supervise stock movement activities including:
- Receiving
- Dispatching
- Returns processing
- Ensure timely delivery of products and spare parts to customers.
- Improve parts availability and warehouse fill rates.
- Coordinate inventory replenishment activities.
Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) Management
- Support stock planning activities.
- Develop proactive customer relationships.
- Contribute to customer productivity and operational reliability.
- Identify opportunities to improve parts and service solutions.
- Maximize business opportunities within the VMI environment.
- Coordinate inventory improvement initiatives with the Warehouse Operations Manager.
Customer Service and Stakeholder Engagement
- Handle customer queries and complaints professionally.
- Maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to inventory management.
- Collaborate with customers and operational teams to improve warehouse performance.
Compliance, Safety and Quality
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Adhere to Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) standards.
- Promote a safe working environment.
- Support continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in:
- Logistics
- Supply Chain Management
- Procurement
- Or a related field from a recognized institution.
Experience Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in:
- Logistics
- Procurement
- Supply Chain Operations
- Experience using ERP systems such as Aurora or similar platforms.
- Experience handling customer complaints and service requests.
- Experience in the mining industry or related sectors will be an added advantage.
