Job Purpose

The Zonal ICT Specialist is responsible for coordinating and providing ICT support services across assigned zones and branches to ensure availability, reliability, security, and efficient operation of branch technology infrastructure.

The role ensures smooth operation of:

  • Branch ICT infrastructure.
  • End-user devices.
  • Office equipment.
  • ATMs.
  • POS devices.
  • Network connectivity.
  • Banking systems.

The position also manages ICT incidents, preventive maintenance, asset management, vendor coordination, SLA monitoring, and support for branch technology projects.


Key Responsibilities

1. Branch ICT Support and Operations

  • Coordinate ICT support services across assigned branches to ensure continuous availability of ICT systems.
  • Act as the first point of technical coordination for branch ICT incidents and service requests.
  • Ensure proper functioning of:
    • ICT infrastructure.
    • Computers and user devices.
    • Office machines.
    • ATMs.
    • POS devices.
    • Network connectivity.
  • Provide technical support to branch employees on ICT systems, applications, and working tools.

2. Incident Management and Technical Troubleshooting

  • Troubleshoot and resolve ICT incidents affecting branch operations.
  • Coordinate escalations with:
    • Infrastructure teams.
    • Network teams.
    • Application support teams.
    • Cyber Security teams.
    • ATM/POS teams.
    • External vendors.
  • Monitor unresolved incidents and ensure timely resolution.
  • Identify recurring ICT issues and recommend preventive solutions.

3. ICT Security and Compliance

  • Implement and monitor ICT security controls.
  • Ensure compliance with bank ICT policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate:
    • Software updates.
    • Antivirus updates.
    • Security improvements.
  • Support ICT audits, compliance reviews, and corrective actions.

4. ICT Equipment Installation and Projects

  • Coordinate installation, relocation, upgrading, and commissioning of ICT equipment for:
    • New branches.
    • Branch relocations.
    • Renovation projects.
    • Technology upgrades.
  • Support ATM and POS operations through:
    • Maintenance coordination.
    • Upgrade activities.
    • Service restoration.
    • Vendor support.

5. Preventive Maintenance and Asset Management

  • Conduct preventive maintenance of:
    • ICT assets.
    • End-user devices.
    • Office machines.
  • Maintain accurate ICT asset inventories.
  • Manage ICT asset lifecycle activities including:
    • Deployment.
    • Transfers.
    • Replacement.
    • Retirement.

6. Vendor and SLA Management

  • Monitor vendor performance and compliance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Follow up on service delivery issues.
  • Escalate vendor performance gaps for timely resolution.

7. Reporting and Service Improvement

  • Prepare regular ICT support reports covering:
    • Incidents.
    • Service availability.
    • Maintenance activities.
    • Asset status.
    • Escalated issues.
  • Monitor branch ICT performance and recommend improvements.
  • Support initiatives aimed at improving ICT service availability.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in:
    • Computer Systems Technology.
    • Information Technology.
    • Computer Science.
    • Related ICT fields.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in ICT support.
  • Experience in:
    • Banking environment.
    • Branch operations support.
    • ICT infrastructure management.

Required Certifications

Preferred certifications include:

  • ITIL v3 Certification.
  • Microsoft Certifications.
  • Network Certifications.

Technical Skills and Competencies

Candidates should have experience in:

  • Supporting branch ICT equipment.
  • End-user device troubleshooting.
  • Office equipment support.
  • POS and ATM support.
  • Basic LAN/WAN infrastructure.
  • Branch connectivity support.
  • Incident management.
  • ICT asset inventory management.
  • Vendor coordination.
  • SLA monitoring.
