IT is seeking a BSS System Administrator to support the administration, maintenance, monitoring and technical operations of Business Support Systems (BSS) in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Job Summary

The BSS System Administrator will be responsible for installing, configuring, maintaining, monitoring and supporting BSS platforms and related infrastructure.

The role focuses on ensuring the reliability, performance, security and availability of systems supporting customer management, billing, service provisioning, order management, CRM and revenue assurance.

Key Responsibilities

1. System Administration

• Administer and maintain BSS platforms and supporting infrastructure.
• Install, configure, patch, upgrade and troubleshoot BSS applications.
• Monitor system performance, availability and capacity.
• Manage application servers, databases and system integrations.
• Conduct routine system health checks and preventive maintenance.

2. BSS Operations Support

Provide technical support for systems covering:

• Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
• Billing and Charging
• Order Management
• Service Fulfillment
• Product Catalog Management
• Revenue Assurance
• Customer Portals
• Resolve incidents and service requests within defined SLAs.
• Coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve technical issues.

3. Integration Management

• Support integrations between BSS and other platforms.
• Monitor APIs, ETL processes and message queues.
• Troubleshoot data synchronisation and provisioning issues.
• Assist with system migrations and new service deployments.

4. Database & Reporting

• Perform database maintenance activities.
• Support data backup, restoration and recovery procedures.
• Generate operational and business reports.
• Ensure data integrity and consistency across systems.

5. Monitoring & Incident Management

• Monitor production environments using enterprise monitoring tools.
• Analyse system logs and performance metrics.
• Participate in root-cause analysis and problem management.
• Support disaster recovery and business continuity activities.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Telecommunications, Engineering or a related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in system administration or telecommunications IT operations.
• Experience supporting telecommunications BSS environments.
• Experience in telecommunications operations is preferred.
