Job Summary
The Senior Transactional Banking Sales Manager is responsible for increasing Absa Bank Tanzania’s earnings through the sale and growth of Cash Management and Transactional Banking solutions to corporate clients.
The role focuses on:
- Winning new corporate client mandates.
- Growing existing customer relationships and wallet share.
- Increasing revenue and market share.
- Cross-selling Absa products and services.
- Managing relationships with key corporate decision-makers.
- Providing high-quality customer service.
- Supporting product development and innovation.
- Maintaining strong risk and control standards.
The position primarily serves Global Corporates, Large Local Corporates, Global Development Organizations (GDOs), and Public Sector clients.
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales & Customer Service — 70%
- Achieve agreed annual sales and performance targets.
- Handle and resolve technical Cash Management service queries.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key corporate decision-makers.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
- Increase wallet share among existing customers.
- Develop sales plans and objectives for individual client calls.
- Prepare and maintain client call reports.
- Support pricing of Cash Management products.
- Work with Treasury on wholesale liquidity mobilisation and management.
- Support development of new products and services based on customer needs.
- Promote Absa Transactional Banking capabilities to clients and internal teams.
- Monitor sales volumes and revenue from major Corporate Banking customers.
- Participate in monthly financial performance meetings.
2. Product & Customer Management — 20%
- Ensure compliance with product pricing requirements.
- Coordinate after-sales support and customer training.
- Monitor competitor products and market trends.
- Provide specialist support to Relationship Managers, Markets and Retail & Business Banking teams.
- Participate in development and enhancement of transactional products.
3. Business Management — 10%
- Coordinate Cash Management strategies with Corporate Banking teams.
- Conduct monthly product sales performance reviews.
- Maintain clear personal performance objectives.
Risk & Controls
The successful candidate will also be expected to:

- Interaction between branches, Corporate Services, Operations and IT.
- Absa products and services and how they meet customer needs.
Recommended Training
The following qualifications/training would support effectiveness in the role:
- Advanced Transactional Products training.

- Certificate in International Cash Management (CertICM).
- Sales training.
- Negotiation skills training.
Education
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Professional qualifications in Business, Commerce or Management Studies.
