About Tanzania Agricultural Development Bank (TADB)

The Tanzania Agricultural Development Bank Limited (TADB) is a development finance institution focused on supporting and financing Tanzania’s agricultural sector and related value chains.

Background

The Project Management Department is responsible for the design, coordination and implementation of strategic and partner-funded projects across the agriculture, livestock and fisheries sectors.

Over the past three years, TADB has been implementing strategic projects in the fisheries and livestock sectors, where more than TZS 30 billion has been disbursed to over 4,000 project beneficiaries across the country.

To strengthen departmental capacity and provide practical on-the-job exposure to project management functions, TADB wishes to engage suitably qualified interns to support the Project Management team’s day-to-day work.

TADB is inviting suitable candidates to fill intern positions across seven (7) zonal offices.

Scope of Work / Key Responsibilities

Under the supervision and guidance of the Resource Mobilization Manager, the intern will:

  • Demonstrate a strong sense of collaborative work, excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintain keen attention to detail.
  • Demonstrate excellent analytical skills.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to achieve organizational goals and solicit input by genuinely valuing others’ ideas and expertise.
  • Be willing to learn from others and place the team agenda before personal agenda.
  • Support and act in accordance with final group decisions, even when such decisions may not entirely reflect their own position.

Qualifications, Knowledge and Skills

The ideal candidate will meet the following minimum requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or higher in Aquaculture and Fisheries, Agriculture, Business Management, Banking, or related fields.
  • Experience in fisheries and aquaculture projects.
  • Strong writing skills, particularly in preparing short, simple and engaging reports.
  • Strong commitment to promoting fisheries development in Tanzania.
  • Understanding of the development context in Tanzania and TADB’s activities.
  • Good command of MS Office applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as the ability to handle web-based applications.
  • The intern is expected to have their own laptop for work.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Excellent qualitative and quantitative skills.
  • Experience in data collection and analysis in the fields of social or economic development.
  • Fluency in Swahili and English.
