Fraud Analyst – Role Overview
Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

Core Purpose
The role focuses on:
- Preventing and detecting fraud across systems and processes
- Strengthening internal controls and security measures
- Conducting forensic investigations and identifying anomalies
- Continuously improving fraud detection strategies
Key Responsibilities (Simplified)
Fraud Detection & Investigation
- Conduct fraud investigations from alerts, reports, or tip-offs
- Analyze suspicious activities and system anomalies
- Quantify fraud losses and recovery efforts
Risk Assessment & Monitoring
- Perform quarterly Fraud Risk Assessments (FRA)
- Monitor revenue streams (including subscription fraud)
- Ensure effective fraud controls are in place
Training & Awareness
- Develop and deliver fraud awareness programs
- Conduct fraud training for internal and external stakeholders
Compliance & Controls
- Support Corporate Security Control Baseline (CSCB) targets
- Participate in regulatory-related fraud tasks
- Improve fraud policies, procedures, and systems
Continuous Improvement
- Research new fraud detection techniques
- Implement better fraud prevention methodologies
Requirements & Skills
Education
- Degree or Advanced Diploma in:
- IT
- Technology
- Engineering
Technical Skills
- Strong data analysis (SQL, PL/SQL, ACL)
- Understanding of revenue assurance
- Knowledge of forensic investigation methods
Core Competencies
