Position Details

Position Title: Senior Mechanic
Number of Positions: 2
Reporting To: Workshop Manager
Work Location: Kilombero Sugar Estate, Tanzania
Application Deadline: 10 May 2026

Key Responsibilities

Conduct advanced fault diagnosis, troubleshooting, and repair of machinery and equipment
Supervise and guide junior technicians
Plan and implement preventive maintenance programs
Collaborate with land preparation supervisors and liaise with clients
Maintain accurate and up-to-date maintenance and repair records
Oversee technicians to ensure optimal fleet availability
Manage workshop staffing and ensure smooth workflow operations
Maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external clients
Ensure proper care and maintenance of workshop tools and equipment
Comply with all health, safety, and environmental standards
Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor or manager

Minimum Requirements

Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Engineering, or related field
At least 5 years’ experience in a mechanical supervisory role
Experience with heavy-duty automotive machinery (agricultural sector preferred)
Strong knowledge of automotive systems, diagnostics, and repair techniques
Computer literacy, including diagnostic software tools
Good communication skills (English preferred)
Strong adherence to safety standards
