1. Plumber Technician

Position Details

Position: Plumber Technician
Reports to: Technical Manager
Position Type: Staff Position
Job Location: Arusha, Tanzania

Objective of the Role

The Plumber Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing industrial plumbing and high-pressure piping systems within the farm and technical infrastructure. The role aims to ensure that all systems operate safely, efficiently, and with minimal downtime.

Main Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair high-pressure piping systems, industrial water supply lines, drainage systems, and pressurized fluid systems.
• Work on HDPE, PVC, galvanized steel, stainless steel, and pressure-rated piping systems used in industrial or agricultural production environments.
• Carry out maintenance and repairs on:
  • Pump systems
  • Irrigation manifolds
  • Pressure regulating valves
  • Industrial valves and fittings
  • Pump stations
  • Distribution systems
• Conduct pressure testing, leak detection, pipe threading, pipe fitting, and system integrity inspections.
• Monitor and maintain pumps, compressors, valves, filters, and related mechanical systems.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, plumbing schematics, piping layouts, and maintenance schedules.
• Respond to emergency pipe bursts, pressure failures, and mechanical breakdowns.
• Ensure compliance with safety procedures and technical maintenance protocols.
• Maintain maintenance records, spare part inventories, and technical inspection reports.

Qualifications and Skills

• Certificate or Diploma in Plumbing, Pipe Fitting, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum of 7 years’ experience in a factory, industrial plant, processing facility, manufacturing environment, or large-scale irrigation setup involving high-pressure systems.
• Strong knowledge of:
  • Industrial piping systems
  • Pressure pumps
  • Industrial plumbing maintenance
  • Pressure testing procedures
• Experience working with booster systems, compressors, industrial valves, and fluid transfer systems is highly preferred.
• Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical faults independently.
• Good understanding of workplace safety standards and preventive maintenance systems.
• Ability to communicate proficiently in English and Kiswahili.

2. Plumber Fitter

Position Details

Position: Plumber Fitter
Reports to: Technical Department
Position Type: Staff Position
Job Location: Arusha, Tanzania

Objective of the Role

The Plumber Fitter will be responsible for performing installation, inspection, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems and related mechanical infrastructure to support safe and efficient farm operations.

Main Responsibilities

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair plumbing systems and fixtures.
• Repair and maintain:
  • Pumps
  • Valves
  • Boilers
  • Compressors
  • Sprinkler systems
• Maintain service and repair records.
• Respond to emergency repair requests and maintenance breakdowns.

Qualifications and Skills

• Certificate or Diploma qualification in Plumbing or Pipe Fitting.
• Not less than 4 years of practical experience.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, fittings, valves, pumps, and industrial maintenance procedures.
• Ability to read technical drawings and blueprints.
• Experience in industrial, commercial, or large-scale facility maintenance is an added advantage.
• Physically fit and capable of performing demanding technical work safely.
• Ability to communicate proficiently in English and Kiswahili.

3. Electrician

Position Details

Position: Electrician
Reports to: Assistant Technical Manager
Position Type: Staff Position
Job Location: Arusha, Tanzania

Objective of the Role

The Electrician will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical systems, machinery, and technical equipment across the farm are maintained in safe and efficient working condition to support uninterrupted operational activities.

Main Responsibilities

• Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems within greenhouse operations, including:
  • Irrigation pumps
  • Misting systems
  • Pad fan cooling systems
  • Growing lights
  • Auger systems
  • Climate control systems
• Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance of:
  • Generators
  • Boilers
  • Seed dryers
  • Cold rooms
  • Climate cells
  • Borehole electrical systems
• Monitor and maintain measuring boxes linked to greenhouse climate computers.
• Ensure proper maintenance of security lighting systems and electric fences.
• Support boiler steaming operations and monitor fuel and oil consumption.
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules together with the Technical Management team.
• Record and report maintenance issues and equipment breakdowns promptly.

Qualifications and Skills

• Certificate or Diploma in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum of 4 years’ practical experience in industrial, agricultural, or production environment maintenance.
• Strong understanding of electrical troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, and industrial electrical systems.
• Experience working with generators, motors, pumps, and automated systems will be an added advantage.
• Good understanding of workplace safety and technical compliance standards.
• Ability to communicate proficiently in English and Kiswahili.
