About the Role
The Area Sales Executive – PayGo Phones will be responsible for driving smartphone sales and expanding Sun King’s PayGo Phones business within the assigned territory.
The successful candidate will manage and support a network of retailers and agents, drive market activations, ensure portfolio quality, and support overall channel performance.
This role is ideal for a highly field-oriented professional with strong sales, relationship management, and execution capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
1. Agent Recruitment & Onboarding
The successful candidate will:
- Identify, recruit, and onboard new retailers and ATD Agents within the assigned territory.
- Train agents on smartphone products, EasyBuy processes, pricing, repayment structures, and sales procedures.
- Ensure agents understand Sun King’s customer service and sales standards.
- Support agents with onboarding materials, product demonstrations, and activation guidance.
2. Phone Sales & Territory Growth
- Drive daily, weekly, and monthly smartphone sales targets.
- Increase sales volumes across all phone models through active field engagement.
- Monitor sales performance and implement improvement plans for underperforming agents.
- Ensure agents actively promote PayGo Phones and financing options.
- Identify new business opportunities and high-potential sales areas.
3. Portfolio Quality & Collections Support
- Ensure proper customer registration and PayGo activation processes.
- Monitor repayment trends and assist agents in reducing default risks.
- Follow up on repayment issues and customer concerns affecting collections.
- Coordinate warranty and replacement support processes.
4. Trade Activations & Market Development
- Plan and execute market activations such as:
- Roadshows
- Market storms
- Door-to-door campaigns
- Work closely with the marketing team to increase brand visibility and customer awareness.
- Identify strategic activation and promotional locations.
- Support territory sales campaigns and promotional initiatives.
5. Agent Engagement & Relationship Management
- Build strong relationships with retailers and ATD Agents.
- Conduct regular field visits and performance review meetings.
- Ensure agents maintain adequate stock and branding visibility.
- Motivate and recognize top-performing agents.
6. Reporting & Administration
- Update daily sales, stock, collections, and field activity trackers.
- Prepare weekly territory performance reports.
- Escalate operational challenges, fraud risks, stock shortages, and repayment concerns.
- Ensure timely submission of reports and documentation.
Qualifications and Requirements
Applicants should possess:
- Diploma or Degree in:
- Business Administration
- Marketing
- Sales
- Related fields
- Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in:
- Field sales
- FMCG
- Telecom
- Mobile devices
- Microfinance
- Related industries
- Experience managing agents, retailers, or distribution networks is an added advantage.
- Strong understanding of smartphone sales and PayGo financing models is preferred.
