Position: Tracker
Role Overview
Trackers play a critical role in ensuring that company trucks reach their destinations safely and efficiently. The position involves monitoring vehicle movements through GPS tracking systems, maintaining accurate records of fleet locations, and supporting truck recovery efforts in cases of theft or unauthorized activity.
The Tracker works within the Tracking Call Centre and functions as a vehicle tracking operator.
Essential Skills
Communication Skills
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively.
- Provide accurate and timely information to relevant stakeholders.
Computer Literacy
- Competence in operating and managing online tracking and management systems.
- Ability to work with digital monitoring tools and databases.
Administrative Skills
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
Problem-Solving Skills
- Ability to identify challenges and take appropriate action.
- Ensure operational obstacles are resolved promptly.
Qualifications
- Minimum Certificate or Diploma in a relevant field.
- Experience in Transport, Logistics, or related support services is an added advantage.
- Fluent in both:
- English
- Kiswahili
- Strong IT literacy skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and record truck locations and operational status.
- Track fleet movements using GPS and related monitoring systems.
- Identify and report any incidents or issues affecting cargo transit.
- Communicate operational concerns to relevant operations and support teams.
- Ensure vehicles are being utilized according to company procedures.
- Support truck recovery processes when required.
- Maintain accurate tracking and operational records.
