Summary of Responsibilities
- Manage a portfolio of corporate banking clients
- Build and maintain long-term customer relationships
- Drive business development with new and existing clients
- Manage reputational and operational risk within the portfolio
Scope of Duties – Business Development
- Grow a profitable corporate banking portfolio through proactive relationship management
- Identify and engage target clients and understand their financial needs
- Promote and communicate bank products and services effectively
- Analyze client needs and recommend appropriate financial solutions
- Achieve sales and performance targets through active participation in sales processes
- Monitor complaints and ensure proper resolution within the portfolio
- Participate in networking and community activities to enhance bank visibility
- Develop business strategies aligned with market conditions
- Identify and assess risk factors in business opportunities
- Prepare credit proposals and participate in credit approval processes
- Structure, negotiate, and document credit facilities and agreements
- Ensure proper documentation of loans and resolution of exceptions
- Manage overall client relationship ownership
- Maintain relationship management plans per client
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure strong client service delivery
- Anticipate client needs and engage stakeholders effectively
- Ensure compliance with bank policies and procedures
Portfolio Management
- Ensure compliance, risk control, and portfolio performance monitoring
- Track exposures against approved limits and credit structures
- Conduct periodic credit reviews, renewals, and modifications accurately and on time
Technical Know-How
- Understanding of banking policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines
- Strong analytical ability to interpret financial and credit data
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage complex, multi-variable business cases
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong negotiation and decision-making skills within assigned authority
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3–5 years’ experience in managing high-value banking relationships
- Experience in credit structuring, underwriting, and negotiation of complex transactions
Additional Information
- Must be self-driven and capable of managing high-profile client relationships
- Strong collaboration with senior management and internal teams required
