Position Summary

MCL is seeking a motivated and experienced Video Reporter (Retainer) based in Dodoma.

The successful candidate will be responsible for identifying, filming, editing, and publishing engaging video news content for digital and social media platforms while maintaining the highest editorial, ethical, and legal standards.

The role requires timely coverage of both breaking news and planned events.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

• Gather news, stories, and information from Dodoma throughout the day.
• Film and produce high-quality video news content.
• Enhance stories using video and other multimedia formats.
• Generate creative video ideas suitable for multiple digital platforms.
• Review and rewrite video scripts where necessary.
• Produce at least five (5) videos for MCL social media platforms.
• Edit and publish three (3) videos daily across multimedia platforms.
• Obtain necessary permissions and consents before recording or publishing content.
• Ensure compliance with privacy, copyright, confidentiality, and journalistic ethics.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess:

• Bachelor’s Degree in:
  • Journalism
  • Mass Communication
  • Or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.

Experience

Applicants should have:

• 2–3 years of relevant professional experience in journalism, video reporting, or multimedia production.
