Position Overview

AB InBev is looking for a Packaging Process Artisan to join its team in Mbeya, Tanzania. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing packaging plant equipment to ensure maximum plant availability, consistent product quality, and cost-effective operations while maintaining safety and operational standards.


Key Purpose of the Role

To maintain, repair, and optimize plant equipment and associated devices to ensure:

  • Maximum plant availability.
  • High product quality.
  • Minimum operating costs.
  • Compliance with company standards and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

The Packaging Process Artisan will:

Maintenance & Repairs

  • Maintain, repair, and optimize plant and associated equipment.
  • Locate plant equipment, spare parts, and relevant documentation.
  • Perform repairs, maintenance, and major maintenance activities.
  • Continuously improve plant, process equipment, and operating systems.
  • Identify equipment problems through inspections and maintenance schedules.

Plant Operations

  • Operate plant and packaging process equipment safely.
  • Operate packaging machines to produce products that meet quality standards at optimum cost.
  • Start up and shut down machines according to operating procedures.
  • Monitor machine performance and process conditions.
  • Ensure machines remain in good working condition.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Carry out basic maintenance activities.
  • Complete maintenance and operational documentation accurately.
  • Maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
  • Apply VPO (Voyager Plant Optimization) Principles and Practices.
  • Maintain 5S workplace standards at the workstation.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should possess:

Education

  • Minimum Diploma in Electrical Engineering.

Experience

  • Minimum 2–3 months of on-the-job training.
  • Ideally 3–6 months of on-the-job training.
  • 1–2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.

Skills & Competencies

  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to operate and maintain packaging equipment.
  • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Commitment to workplace safety.
  • Ability to follow maintenance procedures and documentation standards.
