Job Summary
Standard Chartered Tanzania is seeking a Relationship Manager, Global Subsidiaries to manage and strengthen relationships with multinational corporate clients. The successful candidate will leverage deep industry expertise and a strong understanding of complex financial markets to develop tailored banking solutions that align with clients’ strategic and financial objectives.
The role involves close collaboration with Global Account Managers (GAMs), Regional Account Managers (RAMs), and product specialists to deliver integrated financial solutions, identify new business opportunities, and ensure effective risk management while maintaining the Bank’s regulatory and ethical standards.
The ideal candidate will possess strong commercial acumen, excellent relationship management skills, resilience in a fast-paced environment, and the ability to help clients navigate evolving market conditions while contributing to Standard Chartered’s sustainable banking agenda.
Key Responsibilities
1. Client Relationship Management & Strategic Sales
- Manage a portfolio of global subsidiary clients and serve as their primary banking relationship contact.
- Deliver customized financial advice and banking solutions tailored to client needs.
- Lead negotiations and successfully close complex financial transactions.
- Manage Request for Proposal (RFP) processes and coordinate multidisciplinary sales teams.
- Develop client-focused strategies that maximize cross-border banking opportunities.
- Monitor industry developments and clients’ financial performance to proactively identify business opportunities.
2. Data Analytics & Technology Utilization
- Utilize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics 365 to analyze customer information and improve service delivery.
- Leverage alternative data sources, including social media analytics, to understand client behavior and identify risks and opportunities.
- Stay informed about financial technology innovations such as:
- Blockchain
- Digital banking
- Crypto-assets
- Provide informed guidance on fintech developments and associated risks.
3. Risk Management, Compliance & Governance
- Manage credit, operational, regulatory, and reputational risks within the Bank’s risk appetite.
- Conduct regular portfolio reviews and enhanced due diligence.
- Monitor and mitigate risks related to:
- Financial crime
- Fraud
- Regulatory compliance
- Sustainability
- Advise clients and internal stakeholders on evolving regulatory requirements and compliance matters.
4. Financial Performance & Portfolio Growth
- Achieve portfolio revenue and profitability targets.
- Maximize Return on Risk-Weighted Assets (RoRWA).
- Expand sector expertise and sustainable finance knowledge.
- Collaborate across product teams to deliver innovative banking solutions.
- Drive long-term client growth while enhancing the Bank’s profitability.

Qualifications
Applicants should possess:
- A Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following fields:
- Finance
- Business Administration
- Economics
- Or another closely related discipline
- Fluency in English (mandatory).
- Additional regional language skills are considered an added advantage but are not required.
