Job Summary

The Underground Grader Operator is responsible for operating motor grader equipment in underground mining operations to maintain haul roads, ramps, travelways, and working areas. The role supports safe and efficient transportation of mining equipment and personnel while ensuring compliance with mine safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate underground motor graders to maintain haul roads, ramps, and access roads.
• Grade road surfaces to improve drainage, traction, and safe vehicle movement.
• Remove spillage, debris, and uneven road surfaces.
• Perform pre-operational inspections and routine equipment checks.
• Identify and report equipment faults, hazards, and unsafe conditions.
• Coordinate with truck operators and supervisors to prioritize road maintenance.
• Follow mine plans, ventilation requirements, and traffic management procedures.
• Maintain berms, ditches, and underground roadway profiles.
• Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
• Complete operational logs, inspection records, and reports accurately.
• Assist with other underground mining activities when required.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives in road maintenance and workplace safety.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience operating graders, preferably in underground mining.
• Valid equipment operator certification or relevant operating licence.
• Knowledge of underground mining practices, equipment, and safety procedures.
• Basic mechanical skills for troubleshooting and minor repairs.
• Ability to read and interpret mine plans and operating instructions.
