Key Responsibilities

The Airleg Operator will be responsible for:

Operating airleg drilling equipment to drill blast holes according to mining plans and specifications.
Inspecting drilling equipment before, during, and after operation.
Setting up and positioning airleg drills accurately for efficient drilling.
Identifying and marking drilling locations according to mine plans and supervisor instructions.
Monitoring drilling conditions and adjusting drilling techniques when required.
Maintaining drill bits, rods, hoses, and related equipment.
Reporting equipment faults, breakdowns, and unsafe conditions promptly.
Assisting with charging, blasting preparation, and other underground mining activities.
Following all health, safety, environmental, and mining regulations.
Maintaining clean and hazard-free work areas.
Completing daily production and equipment inspection reports.

Qualification Requirements

Certificate of Secondary Education (CSEE).
Airleg drill operation skills.

Valid Tanzanian driving licence:
- Class B
- Class C
- Class D
- Class E
Relevant equipment operator licences.

Experience & Competencies Required

Candidates should have:

Proven experience operating airleg drills in mining environments.
Minimum 3 years of experience in mining or construction operations.
Knowledge of:
- Airleg drilling techniques.
- Mine safety standards.
- Equipment maintenance.
- Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment.
- Workplace health and safety practices.
Ability to perform equipment inspections and basic maintenance.
Physical fitness and ability to work in confined underground environments.
