Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Supervising underground mining crews.
- Ensuring compliance with the Mines Act and relevant mining regulations.
- Maintaining workplace safety and environmental standards.
- Communicating safety procedures and operational requirements to site personnel.
- Assisting with workforce planning and staffing requirements.
- Supporting equipment sourcing and operational needs.
- Prioritizing tasks and delegating workloads to mining crews.
- Monitoring work progress and ensuring targets are achieved.
- Providing leadership and motivating teams to improve performance.
- Communicating effectively with the Mine Manager and other supervisors.
- Supporting accident and incident investigations.
- Assisting with employee induction and training programs.
- Ensuring employees attend required safety training.
- Maintaining full compliance with the project safety management plan.
Qualification Requirements
Applicants should have:
- At least 1 year of experience in one or more mining operations.
- Good organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to read drawings and interpret technical specifications.
Experience & Competencies Required
Candidates should possess:
- Previous underground mine supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of underground track mining methods.
- Ability to build effective working relationships.
- Strong safety background with the ability to promote safe working practices.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Computer skills in:
- Microsoft Excel
- Microsoft Access
- Microsoft Word
- Microsoft Outlook
- Knowledge of:
- Hazard Identification
- Risk Assessment
- Driving ability.
