Job Overview

Airtel Tanzania is looking for a Revenue Assurance Executive to help protect telecom revenue by identifying revenue leakage, analyzing billing and subscriber data, strengthening revenue-assurance controls, and ensuring new products and systems are implemented correctly.

The role is strongly focused on SQL, data analytics, telecom billing, revenue assurance, UAT, risk management, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

1. Revenue Assurance Compliance

Maintain GSM Revenue Assurance compliance above 99%.
Implement Revenue Assurance SOPs and manuals.
Strengthen controls to address emerging and existing revenue risks.

2. Revenue Leakage Prevention

Detect and prevent revenue leakages.
Identify missed revenue opportunities.
Continuously review service and revenue paths.
Improve the Revenue Assurance control environment.

3. Data Analytics & Insights

Use Database Management Systems (DBMS) for data mining and analysis.
Track revenue and subscriber KPIs.
Identify trends, declines, and performance issues.
Monitor product performance and generate business insights.

4. New Product & System Assurance

Work with cross-functional teams to understand system architecture and end-to-end service/revenue paths.
Conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT).
Identify potential risks before new products and systems go live.
Support major system launches through comprehensive risk analysis.
Promote First Time Right (FTR) implementation.

5. Issue Management

Work with relevant teams to resolve identified issues.
Follow up and take ownership of issue closure.
Escalate unresolved issues through the appropriate management hierarchy.

6. SQL & Reporting

Prepare weekly and monthly Revenue Assurance reports.
Report revenue-loss incidents to management.
Use SQL for accurate data extraction and mining.
Prepare management and regulatory reports.
Track performance against business KPIs.
Apply SQL best practices when extracting and analyzing data.

7. Audit & Controls

Ensure compliance with internal audit requirements.
Proactively address audit findings.
Maintain a satisfactory or higher internal audit rating.

Qualifications

Education

Bachelor’s degree in ICT or a related field.

Experience

1–2 years of experience in:
- Telecommunications
- ICT
- Billing Assurance

Technical Skills

SQL is mandatory.

Candidates should also understand:

Relational database structures
Data manipulation
Data extraction
Telecom charging principles
Tariff models
Interconnect billing
Roaming billing processes
Revenue assurance
UAT
Project management methodologies

It is particularly suitable for an ICT/Cyber Security/Computer Science/IT graduate who has practical SQL and database skills and wants to enter telecommunications revenue assurance, billing, data analytics, or IT controls.

The 1–2 years experience requirement is also significantly more accessible than the 3+ years requirement for the Product Manager position.
