Job Description
The Director of ICT Services will:
- Be responsible to the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Planning, Administration and Finance.
- Lead and oversee the ICT Directorate.
- Develop proposals for the strategic direction of information technology and establish mechanisms for implementation.
- Oversee the security of ICT systems, networks, and enterprise information.
- Ensure compliance with established ICT standards.
- Analyse ICT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity, upgrade requirements, and other ICT needs.
- Recommend and supervise hardware and software specifications for ICT equipment.
- Facilitate ICT security audits and investigations.
- Prepare and submit ICT status reports.
- Provide user support, including staff training, system access, and security.
- Develop and maintain relationships with external ICT vendors and service providers.
- Keep up to date with emerging ICT trends and technologies.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by superiors.
Performance Assessment Criteria
The successful candidate will be assessed based on their ability to:
- Lead multi-disciplinary teams and large groups of technical and professional staff.
- Manage and deliver ICT projects effectively.
- Think creatively and implement leading-edge technology solutions.
- Promote teamwork and effectively manage conflict.
- Manage organisational and technological change within the public sector.
Academic Qualifications
Applicants must be:
- Holders of a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Information Technology (IT) or a related discipline from a recognised institution.
- Candidates whose qualifications were awarded by foreign institutions must attach TCU letters of verification for the respective qualifications.
Work Experience
- At least 6 years of relevant work experience.
