Job Description

The Director of ICT Services will:

  • Be responsible to the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Planning, Administration and Finance.
  • Lead and oversee the ICT Directorate.
  • Develop proposals for the strategic direction of information technology and establish mechanisms for implementation.
  • Oversee the security of ICT systems, networks, and enterprise information.
  • Ensure compliance with established ICT standards.
  • Analyse ICT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity, upgrade requirements, and other ICT needs.
  • Recommend and supervise hardware and software specifications for ICT equipment.
  • Facilitate ICT security audits and investigations.
  • Prepare and submit ICT status reports.
  • Provide user support, including staff training, system access, and security.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external ICT vendors and service providers.
  • Keep up to date with emerging ICT trends and technologies.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned by superiors.

Performance Assessment Criteria

The successful candidate will be assessed based on their ability to:

  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams and large groups of technical and professional staff.
  • Manage and deliver ICT projects effectively.
  • Think creatively and implement leading-edge technology solutions.
  • Promote teamwork and effectively manage conflict.
  • Manage organisational and technological change within the public sector.

Academic Qualifications

Applicants must be:

  • Holders of a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Information Technology (IT) or a related discipline from a recognised institution.
  • Candidates whose qualifications were awarded by foreign institutions must attach TCU letters of verification for the respective qualifications.

Work Experience

  • At least 6 years of relevant work experience.
