Job Description

Our client, a French-based group, is a worldwide leader in the travel retail industry, operating in 52 countries across three retail sectors:

Duty-Free Retail
Travel Essentials Retail
Food Services

The Tanzanian subsidiary was incorporated in 2021 to begin Duty-Free operations at Julius Nyerere International Airport (Dar es Salaam), and later expanded to Kilimanjaro International Airport in July 2022.

We are looking to fill the position of Store Sales Associates, reporting to Assistant Managers.

Salary

TZS 700,000 (Gross Salary)

Scope of Work / Responsibilities

Welcome and guide customers according to their needs
Provide in-depth product advice
Sell products and promote additional sales
Handle payments according to procedures
Manage cash, fill registers, and deposit receipts
Arrange and maintain product displays
Participate in promotions and merchandising activities
Verify product labeling
Assist in stock inventories
Report suspicious incidents
Control deliveries and ensure proper stock placement
Report to the Assistant Manager

Profile Required

Ability to use initiative
Strong interpersonal skills and positive attitude
Good understanding of sales and customer service
Previous retail experience
Fluency in Swahili and English
Excellent communication skills
Experience in cash handling

Experience Required

At least 1–2 years in a retail outlet
Experience in customer sales

Training

Selected candidates will receive training on:

Systems (tills)
Processes
Duty-Free sales techniques

Workplace & Conditions

Location: Kilimanjaro International Airport & Julius Nyerere International Airport
Must comply with strict airport security procedures
Security checks are mandatory

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand for long hours
Manual handling (lifting, twisting, turning)
Work in cool environments
Handle fast-paced work pressure

Working Hours

Stores operate 24/7
Includes:
- Night shifts
- Weekend shifts
- Holiday shifts
Rotational schedule applies

Additional Requirements

Must wear a uniform
Must be comfortable handling alcohol and tobacco products
