Tembo Nickel is inviting applications from qualified and experienced candidates to join the Project Team in the following positions:


1. Grievances Resolution Specialist – Kabanga Site

Duty Station: Kabanga Site
Work Schedule: 6/3 Roster
Reporting To: Social Performance Manager


Position Summary

Tembo Nickel is seeking a Grievances Resolution Specialist responsible for managing the complete grievance management process for community and resettlement-related complaints.

The role ensures grievances are properly recorded, assessed, resolved, and closed in a timely, transparent, and culturally appropriate manner in compliance with IFC Performance Standard 5 (IFC PS5) and company standards.


Key Responsibilities

1. Grievance Intake and Management

  • Receive, register, and categorize grievances from:
    • Affected households
    • Community members
    • Stakeholders
  • Conduct field verification and investigations to understand grievance context and validity.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to develop appropriate resolution options.
  • Ensure timely resolution and closure of grievances.

2. Stakeholder Engagement

  • Engage directly with complainants to:
    • Explain grievance procedures.
    • Provide progress updates.
    • Confirm satisfaction with resolutions.
  • Coordinate meetings between communities and project teams where necessary.

3. Reporting and Analysis

  • Maintain an accurate grievance database containing:
    • Complaints received.
    • Actions taken.
    • Decisions made.
    • Closure status.
  • Analyse grievance trends and provide insights to:
    • MEL Manager
    • Social Performance Team
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly grievance reports.

4. Compliance and Continuous Improvement

  • Ensure grievance processes comply with:
    • IFC PS5 requirements.
    • Company standards.
    • Community expectations.
  • Identify recurring issues and recommend improvements.
  • Improve accessibility and effectiveness of grievance mechanisms.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in:
    • Social Sciences
    • Community Development
    • Law
    • Related field
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in basic computer applications.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in:
    • Grievance management
    • Community relations
    • Resettlement programs
  • Mining industry experience is an added advantage.
  • Ability to work in remote locations with multicultural teams.

2. Enterprise Development Specialist

Duty Station: Tembo Nickel Project Site – Ngara
Work Schedule: 6/3 Roster
Reporting To: Social Performance Manager


Position Summary

Tembo Nickel is seeking an Enterprise Development Specialist to support entrepreneurship development programmes and strengthen local economic development initiatives.

The role will contribute to Tembo Nickel’s Local Enterprise Development Strategy by identifying opportunities, managing enterprise development projects, and supporting community economic empowerment initiatives aligned with Project-Induced Migration (PIM) study recommendations.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead development and implementation of enterprise development projects.
  • Manage project risks identified through the Project-Induced Migration (PIM) study.
  • Support the Local Employment Team in engaging community members and managing local employment programmes.
  • Identify and develop:
    • Funding partnerships
    • Strategic alliances
    • Business opportunities
  • Support proposal development, budgeting, and project implementation planning.
  • Act as the focal point for:
    • Market development
    • Enterprise development
    • Access to funding sources
    • Social investment initiatives
  • Keep updated on best practices, trends, and emerging issues related to enterprise development.
  • Build collaborative relationships within the Tembo Nickel network.
  • Work closely with:
    • Procurement Team
    • Resettlement Team
    • Human Resources Team
    • Community and Government Relations Team
  • Ensure local enterprise and skills development initiatives align with company and community objectives.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants should have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in:
    • Social Sciences
    • Business Administration
    • Related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar or related role.
  • Computer literacy and proficiency in basic computer applications.
  • Experience in:
    • Resettlement projects
    • Mining industry
    • Community development
