Job Summary

Dangote Industries Limited is seeking an Electrical Engineer responsible for the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical equipment while ensuring optimum quality, safety, and reliability.

The successful candidate will support smooth plant operations by maintaining electrical systems, reducing downtime, managing spare parts, and implementing preventive maintenance schedules.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, test, operate, and maintain electrical equipment according to quality and safety standards.
• Ensure reliable operation of assigned plant areas to achieve maximum equipment availability.
• Manage spare parts requirements to support continuous plant operations.
• Provide effective maintenance support to minimize equipment downtime.
• Implement preventive maintenance plans and schedules.
• Allocate daily tasks and provide technical guidance to subordinates.
• Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards and procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper housekeeping within assigned work areas.
• Execute maintenance and servicing activities for:
  • Circuit breakers
  • Transformers
  • MCC (Motor Control Centers)
  • PCC (Power Control Centers)
  • Medium and Low Voltage switchboards
  • Battery chargers
  • Plant lighting systems
  • Earthing systems
  • HT/LT motors
  • Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
  • HT/LT cables and cable terminations
• Complete work orders on time while maintaining quality and safety standards.
• Prepare maintenance reports and documentation, including:
  • Power reports
  • Maintenance checklists
  • Daily job reports
  • Equipment maintenance history records
• Train and mentor junior employees.
• Update maintenance records and data in SAP.
• Issue materials from stores and communicate spare requirements to senior staff.
• Prepare SAP documents including:
  • Purchase Requisitions (PR)
  • Notifications
  • Work Orders
• Perform other duties assigned by the Senior Engineer, Head of Section, or Head of Department.

Professional Qualifications and Experience

Education

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.

Experience

• Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience in an industrial environment.

Technical Knowledge and Skills

Candidates should have knowledge and experience in:

• Low, Medium, and High Voltage electrical systems, including:
  • MCC/PCC systems
  • MV and LV switchboards
  • HT/LT motors
  • Transformers
  • Indoor and outdoor substation equipment
  • Generators
  • Electrical cables and cable termination
  • Plant lighting and earthing systems
  • Electrical measurement and testing equipment
  • Electrical and electronic diagrams interpretation
  • Battery charging systems
• Engineering drawings and electrical principles.
• SAP maintenance systems.
• Electrical troubleshooting and fault analysis.
• Safety legislation and industrial safety procedures.
