St. Constantine’s International School was founded in 1951 and is the oldest international school in Tanzania, as well as the largest international school in Northern Tanzania.
SCIS is a non-profit, non-denominational, co-educational day and boarding school offering:

Position Overview
SCIS is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic A-Level Mathematics Teacher to join its secondary teaching team on a short-term basis from August 2026.
The successful candidate will:
- Teach Cambridge A-Level Mathematics.

- Prepare learners for external examinations and qualifications.

Key Responsibilities
Teaching and Learning
The teacher will:
- Teach all aspects of the secondary A-Level Mathematics curriculum.
- Deliver engaging lessons to students of varying abilities.
- Plan and prepare effective lesson materials.
- Use innovative teaching methods and educational technologies.
- Develop new curriculum resources and teaching materials.
- Maintain current subject knowledge and awareness of curriculum developments.
- Utilize a variety of learning resources, including digital tools and interactive technologies.
Student Progress and Assessment
Responsibilities include:
- Monitoring and supporting student academic progress.
- Preparing and marking assignments and assessments.
- Providing constructive feedback to learners.
- Maintaining accurate records of achievement and development.
- Preparing students for external examinations.
- Communicating student progress to parents and guardians.
Classroom and Behaviour Management
The teacher will:
- Create a positive and productive learning environment.
- Organize classrooms and learning resources effectively.
- Maintain high standards of discipline.
- Manage student behaviour appropriately both inside and outside the classroom.
- Apply effective behaviour management strategies when necessary.
Curriculum Coordination and Collaboration
The successful candidate will:
- Coordinate activities within designated curriculum areas.
- Support colleagues in delivering specialist subject content.
- Participate in departmental meetings and collaborative planning.
- Attend parents’ evenings and school-wide training events.
- Work closely with teaching and support staff.
Pastoral Care and Student Support
Responsibilities include:
- Serving as a form tutor when required.
- Supporting students experiencing academic or personal challenges.
- Working with educational professionals and support services where necessary.
- Promoting student wellbeing and personal development.
Wider School Contribution
The teacher will:
- Participate in school events, trips, and extracurricular activities.
- Support weekend and evening school activities when required.
- Work closely with parents to enhance student outcomes.
- Support teaching assistants, trainee teachers, and newly qualified teachers.
- Participate in lesson observations and professional development programmes.
- Undertake additional duties as reasonably required by the school.
Requirements
Applicants should possess:
Essential
- Minimum of 2 years’ teaching experience.
- Strong subject knowledge in Mathematics.
- Ability to teach secondary and A-Level Mathematics effectively.
- Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
Desirable
- Diploma or Degree in Mathematics or a related field.
- Experience teaching the English National Curriculum or Cambridge Curriculum.
- Experience preparing students for Cambridge examinations.
