Job Purpose

The Accountant I will support efficient financial operations, effective internal controls, and the preparation of reliable financial information to support informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and reconcile electronic banking transactions and ensure accurate posting into the Core Banking System and General Ledger.
• Monitor digital banking operations and resolve transaction issues.
• Coordinate with banks, payment service providers, and other stakeholders.
• Manage members’ contributions, loan disbursements, payroll, supplier payments, statutory obligations, and other approved financial transactions.
• Prepare financial reports, budgets, cash-flow projections, financial statements, and statutory returns.
• Maintain accurate financial records.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations, internal policies, and AML/KYC requirements.
• Support internal and external audits.
• Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications & Experience

Applicants must have:

• Bachelor’s degree or Advanced Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least Upper Second-Class or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• CPA or equivalent professional qualification.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant work experience.

Required Skills

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• High level of integrity and business acumen.
• Ability to use different accounting packages.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Understanding of financial controls, banking transactions, and regulatory compliance.

Age Requirement

Applicants must be aged 28–35 years.
