Position Overview
GIZ Tanzania is seeking to recruit two (2) detail-oriented and motivated interns to support the Finance Unit within the Country Office in administrative, accounting, and finance-related functions.
Successful candidates will support various finance and administrative activities with professionalism, integrity, and excellence.

Fixed-term internship contract
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with verification of financial documents and invoices
- Support day-to-day accounting activities
- Assist in compiling VAT refund documents for submission and tracking
- Verify travel expense claims
- Collaborate with departments to ensure compliance with financial procedures
- Report financial administration and compliance issues promptly
- Assist with scanning vouchers for digital archiving
- Support filing and confidential handling of accounting documents
- Perform additional duties assigned by the supervisor
Qualifications & Requirements
Applicants should possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in:
- Accounting
- Finance
- Economics
- Related field
- Fresh graduate status
- Basic knowledge of accounting and administrative functions
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office applications:
- Excel
- Word
- PowerPoint
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Reliable coordination and administrative support skills

Duty Station & Duration
Location: Arusha
Duration: 6 Months
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct research and analysis on digital economy policies and regulations
- Draft policy briefs, reports, and presentations
- Support coordination of meetings, workshops, and stakeholder engagements
- Monitor international and regional digital governance trends
- Support knowledge management and documentation activities
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Prepare briefing materials for high-level meetings and events
- Perform additional tasks assigned by the Team Lead
Required Qualifications & Experience
Academic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:
- Digital Economy
- International Relations
- Public Policy
- Economics
- Law
- Related field
Professional Experience & Competencies
- At least one year of experience in:
- Digital economy policy work
- International relations
- Related areas
- Strong understanding of:
- Digital economy trends
- Policy frameworks
- Governance structures
- Experience conducting research and drafting policy documents
- Familiarity with international digital transformation initiatives and regulations
- Excellent writing, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in diverse environments
- Proficiency in:
- Microsoft Word
- Excel
- PowerPoint
- Online collaboration tools
Language Requirements
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken)
- Kiswahili or French is an added advantage
Additional Information
- The internship is based in Arusha
- Duration: Six months
- Interns will receive a stipend according to GIZ internship policy
