About the IRESAP II Project

The Interactive Radio for Ecologically Sustainable Agricultural Practices (IRESAP) Phase II project runs from:

• 1 January 2024
• 31 December 2026

The project aims to:

• Increase adoption of agroecology practices in Tanzania
• Promote sustainable food systems
• Strengthen radio programming sustainability
• Develop long-term revenue-generating business models for participating radio stations

FRI has already worked with 5 radio stations in Central and Northern Tanzania on:

• Market research
• Sustainability planning
• Business and marketing training
• Investor engagement preparation

The selected consultant will support these stations in securing business partnerships and revenue opportunities linked to agroecology programming.

Objectives of the Assignment

The consultant will work with the 5 radio stations to:

• Develop sustainable business models
• Strengthen marketing approaches
• Support business engagement with partners and investors
• Help sustain food systems-oriented radio programming beyond the project lifecycle

Key Responsibilities

The consultant will be expected to:

• Develop a marketing plan for each radio station
• Conduct and support business engagement activities
• Work directly with radio station teams and partners
• Promote investor and advertiser interest in agroecology-related programming
• Support revenue generation initiatives linked to radio content

---

Key Deliverables

The assignment requires delivery of:

1. Five (5) customer value propositions for the participating radio stations.
2. At least 40 business engagement sessions, with:
   • Minimum of 8 sessions per station.

Consultant Requirements

Applicants should:

• Be based in Tanzania
• Be fluent in Swahili
• Be able to travel within the country
• Demonstrate strong experience in:
  • Business development
  • Business growth strategies
  • Business model improvement/testing
  • Marketing and stakeholder engagement
