Position Overview
AB InBev is seeking a qualified Packaging Process Artisan to join its team at Dar es Salaam Headquarters (DSM HQ). The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing packaging plant equipment and associated systems to ensure maximum plant availability, consistent product quality, and cost-effective operations while maintaining company standards.
Key Purpose of the Role
To maintain, repair, and optimize packaging plant equipment and associated devices in order to:
- Maximize plant availability.
- Ensure consistent product quality.
- Minimize operating costs.
- Maintain operational, quality, and safety standards.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
Plant Maintenance & Equipment Optimization
The Packaging Process Artisan will:
- Maintain, repair, and optimize plant and associated equipment.
- Locate plant equipment, spare parts, and relevant technical documentation or systems.
- Perform repairs, routine maintenance, and major maintenance activities.
- Continuously improve and optimize plant equipment and operating systems.
Plant Operations
Responsibilities include:
- Operate plant and packaging process equipment safely.
- Identify equipment problems through plant inspections and maintenance schedules.
- Operate packaging machines efficiently.
- Monitor and control production processes to ensure consistent product quality at optimum cost.
- Start up and shut down machines according to operational procedures.
Equipment Maintenance & Documentation
The successful candidate will:
- Perform basic maintenance activities.
- Complete maintenance and operational documentation accurately.
- Ensure machines remain in good working condition.
- Report equipment faults and operational issues promptly.
Health, Safety & Workplace Standards
The Packaging Process Artisan will:
- Maintain a safe and healthy working environment.
- Apply Voyager Plant Optimization (VPO) principles and practices.
- Maintain 5S workplace standards at the workstation.
- Follow company safety, quality, and operational procedures.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Minimum Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
Training
- Minimum 2–3 months of on-the-job training.
- Ideally 3–6 months of on-the-job training.
Experience
- 1–2 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
Skills & Competencies
The ideal candidate should possess:
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to operate and maintain packaging equipment.
- Commitment to workplace safety and continuous improvement.
