Role Summary
The Communications Coordinator will lead implementation of the Tanzania Program Communications Strategy.
The role focuses on:
- Internal and external communications
- Branding and visibility
- Storytelling and documentation
- Media engagement
- Advocacy and public awareness
- Knowledge management
- Donor visibility compliance
The position works closely with:
- Program teams
- Regional communications teams in Nairobi
- Central Office
- Media stakeholders
- Donors and partners
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Communication Planning & Monitoring
The role holder will:
- Coordinate communication plans and activities
- Develop evidence-based communication materials
- Track communication performance indicators
- Support adaptive learning and evidence-based programming
- Strengthen organizational visibility and stakeholder engagement
2. Branding & Visibility
Responsibilities include:
- Ensuring compliance with TREES branding guidelines
- Supporting donor visibility requirements
- Managing communication platforms and digital channels
- Coordinating branded campaign and event materials
- Providing technical communication guidance to program teams
3. Media Relations & Public Engagement
The Communications Coordinator will:
- Prepare:
- Press releases
- Media kits
- Talking points
- Communication packages
- Build relationships with:
- Journalists
- Media houses
- Influencers
- Communication stakeholders
- Coordinate:
- Interviews
- Press events
- Media visits
- Public awareness campaigns
4. Field Engagement, Documentation & Content Development
Key duties include:
- Conducting regular field visits

- Social media content
- Photography
- Videos
- Reports
- Speeches

- Program evidence
- Managing photo and video archives

5. Knowledge Management & Organizational Learning

Qualifications & Experience
Education

Experience

- Minimum 5 years of progressive communications experience
- NGO or development-sector experience preferred
Demonstrated Experience In:
